Immanuel

Church
is nestled in the mountains of southeastern Kentucky in
Harlan County in the Elcomb Community.
Established in 1984, Immanuel has been a church that has
ministered to the county in both Word and deed.
Pastor Arnold Martin has been used of God to lead this
local body to reach Harlan County and now the world with
the gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples for Jesus.

Immanuel
has weekly services that serves the community of Harlan
County in Southeastern Kentucky, and through the
Internet, the world. We are obeying our Lord's
Command in the Great Commission to go into all the
world. Immanuel is a church that emphasizes the
teaching and preaching of the uncompromised Word of God.
We have a number of ministries that reach out in
different ways to the world with the Word of God and the
hope of Jesus Christ.
THE
MINISTRIES:
Bible Training is a focus at Immanuel Church.
The Word of God is both preached and taught each service. We have Sunday
School Classes, and both Morning and Evening Worship on Sundays, and a mid-week
service on Wednesday. We also run buses into our community to
provide transportation for those who need a way to church.
Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples and to go
and Teach all nations, so we as a
church, will obey our Lord's command.
For over 20 years, Pastor
Martin wrote the well-known newspaper article,
“From a Pastor’s Heart”
in the Harlan Daily Enterprise which had been designed to
be a blessing to every one regardless of denomination.
In the spring of 2001, a new television ministry
was added. The “Word To You” is a 30 minute
television program on “The Living Faith Television” network.
The Word to You is now
moving ONLINE and will be STREAMED via
REAL PLAYER on this website to both our
local community and the world.
The Word to You are the recorded messages of Pastor Arnold Martin of the Word of God delivered
at Immanuel. Both video and audio streaming will be available. Click

So, now you can hear the Word of God from Immanuel at any time day or night.
We have Sunday School Classes for
both adults and children. These classes cover all ages and we also provide a
well equipped Nursery and Kindergarten Class. There is also an active
Youth Masters Program for our young people.
The
newest ministry at Immanuel is the Harlan Area chapter of Reformers Unanimous
International, which is a Christ-Centered, Bible-Based Addiction Recovery
Program.
You can click on the RU logo, and see more information about this very effective
program that is reaching many with the hope of Jesus Christ in setting the
captive free. This has also opened up an exciting new Jail Ministry in the local
Harlan County Detention Center.
Immanuel Church also has a
Gymnasium, Baseball Field, and Volleyball Field for fellowship and the youth.
We also have a Dining Hall for Fellowship and Dinners.
Fellowship is a part of the Christian walk,
and God has blessed us with a place where we can meet and enjoy fellowship with
one another. There is also a Sheltered Picnic Area on the upper section
next to the Baseball Field.
THE MISSIONS:
The biggest part of our budget goes
to home missions. We want to reach the people of Harlan County with the gospel.
We try to reach our own people with the article, the buses, the TV, the
Internet, and personal
church visitation. We also believe in supporting foreign missionaries.
And in response to God's command to go out into all the
world, the Word to You website was born.
THE METHODS:
There are certain Biblical methods we believe God will bless in building a
church:

1. We PRAY
that God send more labors into this harvest area. We can use more
workers!
2. We GIVE out
literature: this includes articles, pamphlets, tracts, and DVDs.
3. We PREACH the word of God in a non compromising manner four times each week.
4. We VISIT. We have church wide and personal visitation.
We visit the Detention Center both for a weekly Reformers Unanimous Meeting to
share the Word of God, but we also have several one on one visitations with
those prisoners who want to follow up each week.

Our desire is to administer the Word of God to our area and to the world.
Psalm 138:2 says, "For thou hast magnified thy word above
all thy name." If you do not have a church
home and would be interested in knowing more about how you could
